STATEMENT FROM SENATOR JOHNSON REGARDING CONCEALED CARRY LAW

Washington, D.C. – As the State of Wisconsin today implements a new law regarding concealed weapons, Senator Ron Johnson (WI) made the following statement on the applicability of the law to his Senate office:

 “After consulting with Senate legal counsel, it has been determined that the law considers my Oshkosh office a federal space, in which it is illegal to carry a firearm. We are posting a sign to make that clear.”

Senator Johnson’s Milwaukee office is located in Wisconsin’s Eastern District Federal Courthouse. Guns are not permitted within the building.
