Johnson Comments on President's Budget Address

Senator Ron Johnson (R-WI) issued the following statement regarding the President's speech today:

“Economic growth is the number one component to solving our fiscal situation - not increasing taxes as the President proposes.  Increasing taxes is counter-productive and would weaken economic growth. In order to spur the economy we need to show the American people that we have a credible plan for first cutting, then restraining spending.

"Increasing revenue is necessary to decrease the deficit, but we need to increase revenue the old-fashioned way, by growing our economy.”
