Beloit Daily News: Education chief makes visit
MILWAUKEE (AP) — U.S. Education Secretary Arne Duncan will be in Milwaukee Friday to talk about preparing students for the workforce.
Duncan will be with White House Domestic Policy Council Director Melody Barnes at the Milwaukee School of Career and Technical Education.
It’s a science, technology, engineering and mathematics-focused school that was awarded a federal grant in 2010.
U.S. Sens. Herb Kohl and Ron Johnson, Gov. Scott Walker, State Superintendent of the Department of Public Instruction Tony Evers and others are expected to join Barnes and Duncan for a classroom visit and town hall.
