Johnson Comments on Jobless Numbers

Washington, D.C. – Senator Ron Johnson (WI) released the following statement regarding the July unemployment report from the Bureau of Labor Statistics.

“It’s no surprise that after President Obama’s policies have been given three-and-a-half years to take full effect, our economy is stagnating. Today’s increase in unemployment makes clear that there’s a very real danger the United States will fall back into recession.

“It does not have to be this way. By implementing a sound fiscal plan, limiting regulation, developing America's energy resources, and enacting pro-growth tax reform, we can make it clear that America is once again ‘open for business.’

“President Obama's view that government is central to economic growth insults the hard work of entrepreneurs and the people that work with them building successful businesses.  It is time to reject policies that burden job creators and punish success.  It is time for real leadership.”
