ICYMI: Senator Ron Johnson offered opening remarks at the inaugural Budget Conference Committee Hearing. The conference committee began its work this week. This is what Senator Johnson told the committee as it began:

When he was appointed to the Budget Conference Committee, Johnson said:

“I ran for office to do everything I can to help prevent the bankrupting of America. I appreciate being named to the budget conference committee, enabling me to continue my work defining and finding solutions for the enormous fiscal challenges we face.  My previous discussions with the White House on the debt and deficit have hopefully helped lay some groundwork for a successful conference agreement.”
