On Morning Joe this morning, Senator Ron Johnson (R., Wis.) warned that Obamacare will not only add to the federal deficit, but will also “lead to rationing.” Johnson argued that demand for health care will go up as more Americans receive coverage through the exchanges and Medicaid, while the supply of health care will go down as payments to providers are cut. When asked if he aspires to live in a country with universal health care, Johnson responded that he would like to see health care governed by market forces, citing eyeglasses retailers as an example of a successful market-based approach to providing health care.
