Johnson Participates in La Crosse Area Development Corporation's Annual Meeting
Oshkosh – Sen. Johnson joined 250 business owners Thursday at the La Crosse Area Development Corporation’s 43rd annual meeting in La Crosse. Sen. Johnson delivered the keynote address.
“That really is the foundation of this nation: The government should be close to the governed. It’s more effective, it’s more efficient, it’s more Wisconsin,” Johnson said in his remarks. “La Crosse is a perfect example of that. You’re moving forward; you’re successful.”
Sen. Johnson discussed the opportunity the new Congress will have in 2015 to help America begin to succeed again. “We have not collectively admitted we have these problems. … We should be celebrating success, not demonizing it. ... We will marvel at the results if we have the foresight, if we have the intelligence, if we properly define the problems, if we look at the root cause and start addressing it with something we know works – the free-market competitive system.”
“Let’s find those areas of agreement. ... We are all Americans, and we share that same powerful goal of having a prosperous and secure America,” Johnson said about the new Congress. “We might just be able to accomplish a few things in the next couple of years.”
