Johnson Comments on Military Vote Held Today in US Senate

Washington, D.C. – Senator Johnson made the following comments today regarding his vote in support of S. 1917.

“I am pleased to see the Senate working to improve the administration of justice in cases of sexual assault in the military. The men and women serving in our armed forces are the finest among us. We owe them our best effort. It is encouraging that the Senate is working cooperatively to find solutions to this problem.

“Senators Claire McCaskill of Missouri, Kelly Ayotte of New Hampshire, and Deb Fischer of Nebraska proposed a series of reforms that will most effectively bring about justice, strengthen assault victims’ voice in the process, and improve the armed forces’ command culture.  I was happy to support those efforts by voting for their bipartisan bill.”
