Johnson Plans to Attend Oral Arguments for Lawsuit Against OPM In the U.S. 7th Circuit Court of Appeals

Washington – Sen. Ron Johnson plans to attend the oral arguments in the U.S. 7th Circuit Court of Appeals on Wednesday, Jan. 21.  The senator made these comments in anticipation of the hearing:

“President Obama continues to circumvent Congress and the Constitution at every turn.  Instead of honoring his oath to ‘faithfully execute’ laws duly passed, he has decided to ‘go it alone’ on immigration, health care and overregulating our economy. I have tried to fight back against this unprecedented and dangerous power grab.  In particular, my lawsuit against the Office of Personnel Management highlights his abuse of office that granted special treatment to members of Congress and their staffs under Obamacare.  My counsel, Paul Clement, will be arguing before the 7th Circuit Court that I do have standing to challenge this unfair and unlawful rule.  I look forward to making the argument to allow my case to be decided on its merits — not dismissed on a legal technicality.”
