Johnson Congratulates Bo Ryan on Successful Career
WASHINGTON — On Tuesday, Bo Ryan announced his retirement after 14 years as the University of Wisconsin-Madison head men’s basketball coach. He retires with 747 career wins, 364 of which were at UW-Madison, and seven Big Ten titles.
Ryan has been one of the greatest coaches in college basketball history. He will be remembered not just for his victories but also for his community service and dedication to helping fight cancer. In 2013, he won the Coaches vs. Cancer Champion Award.
Sen. Johnson said this Wednesday: “Bo’s contributions to collegiate basketball in Wisconsin are unmatched, and his successful career is greater tribute than any words could be. His retirement marks the end of an era. He leaves behind an incredible legacy of leadership on and off the court that always will be remembered.”
