Chairman Johnson Reacts to Latest Secret Service Incident

Washington –Senator Ron Johnson, (R-Wis.), chairman of the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee, made these comments about allegations that two senior Secret Service agents were involved in a car crash into White House security barricades after drinking at a party:

“These embarrassing incidents have a profoundly negative effect on the reputation and motivation of thousands of hard-working Secret Service members who have committed their careers to protecting the president.  A few bad apples are forcing the Secret Service to account for itself in the media and distracting it from a mission in which it must not fail.  This is not acceptable.  Current leadership understands this and, I hope, is on the road to restoring the agency’s credibility.”
