Johnson Comments on Anniversary of Sikh Temple Shooting

WASHINGTON — Senator Ron Johnson (R-Wis.) made these remarks Wednesday regarding the anniversary of the Sikh Temple shooting:

“Today we remember the victims and family members of the Sikh Temple shooting that took place three years ago in Oak Creek, Wisconsin. Words can never do justice to the tragedy endured that day, but I encourage Wisconsinites to join with me in taking a moment to remember it.

“The security of America and the safety of the American people is a top priority. As we remember those who were killed and closely impacted, I also ask that we remember and honor the two officers of the Oak Creek Police Department who acted bravely in the aftermath of the shooting, Lt. Brian Murphy and Officer Sevan Lenda. I am incredibly grateful for their courage that day, as well as their service and dedication to the people of Wisconsin.”
