Johnson Statement on Chairman Wheeler Stepping Down
WASHINGTON — Sen. Ron Johnson (R-Wis.) had this to say Thursday following the announcement that Federal Communications Commission Chairman Tom Wheeler will step down on Jan. 20, 2017, paving the way for a Republican majority on the FCC:
“I am pleased to see that Chairman Wheeler will follow the long established tradition of stepping down at the end of the president’s term. This is a commitment he should have made long ago, but better late than never. I look forward to working with the new FCC on rolling back harmful, partisan regulations that choke investment and innovation in the communications sector.”
