Johnson Visits Nonprofit, Becomes First Wisconsin Senator to Join Ranks of AbilityOne Congressional Champions

WASHINGTON — Sen. Ron Johnson (R-Wis.) will be at Brooke Industries Inc. in Fond du Lac on Friday to receive a plaque from SourceAmerica CEO Steve Soroka recognizing Johnson as the first U.S. senator from Wisconsin to join the ranks of AbilityOne Congressional Champions.

"I am honored to be recognized as an AbilityOne Congressional Champion,” Sen. Johnson said. “I strongly believe that all work has value and provides the dignity of earning one's own success. I am grateful for the many AbilityOne job opportunities available in Wisconsin and across the country and hope that these valuable opportunities will continue to be available in the future.”

As an AbilityOne Champion, Sen. Johnson becomes one of more than 150 congressional representatives who have publicly shared their support of the AbilityOne program, which helps people with disabilities find meaningful work. Brooke Industries Inc. is a nonprofit manufacturing and rehabilitation facility that offers people with disabilities services including organizational employment services, transitional and adult day services, vocational assessments, supported employment services, case management and vocational counseling, and life skills training. It’s part of the SourceAmerica network of nonprofits.
