Chairman Johnson to Hold Field Hearing on Tomah VA 

This Tuesday, May 31, Sen. Johnson will bring the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee that he chairs to Tomah for a second field hearing in Tomah to examine alleged overprescription at the Tomah Veterans Affairs Medical Center as well as patient deaths and an alleged culture of fear among hospital employees.  In conjunction with the field hearing, Sen. Johnson will release findings from his extensive investigation into the problems at the Tomah VA.

Fort McCoy Visit  

Sen. Johnson Meets New Recruits 

Sen. Johnson attended the annual "Our Community Salutes" event held for the first time at Fort McCoy. The national nonprofit organization recognizes and honors high school seniors who have committed to enlist in the armed forces following high school graduation. 

New Mobile USO Truck 

While at Fort McCoy last weekend, Sen. Johnson got the chance to check out the new mobile USO truck now in service around the 60,000 acres of Fort McCoy.  Congratulations to the USO Wisconsin for their dedication to our active duty men and women with this new USO on wheels!

Armed Forces Day

Sen. Johnson was honored to attend the Armed Forces Week dinner in Milwaukee at the Wisconsin Club, where he met many veterans. He talked about the importance of hiring veterans, calling the U.S. armed forces the best training program available. Sen. Johnson is proud to have nine veterans on his staff - men and women who have a combined 125 years of service. 

Memorial Day

Sen. Johnson staffers attended the Fallen Hero planter placement at Wood National Cemetery last weekend to honor those who have served to defend our rights and freedoms. After Memorial Day, the planters will be given to veterans at the nearby Zablocki VA Medical Center in Milwaukee.
