Johnson Nominated to 71st U.N. General Assembly
WASHINGTON – Sen. Ron Johnson (R-Wis.) issued the following statement Tuesday on his nomination to the 71st United Nations General Assembly:
“I appreciate President Obama nominating me as one of the two U.S. representatives to the 71st Session of the General Assembly of the United Nations. As chairman of the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee and chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Subcommittee on Europe and Regional Security Cooperation, I look forward to the opportunity to discuss global issues with our partners overseas. The threats to our national security are real and growing. That is why I will continue to focus my efforts on finding areas of agreement – for a safer, more secure and prosperous America.”
