WASHINGTON — Sen. Ron Johnson (R-Wis.) released the following statement Thursday regarding bipartisan passage of the Water Resources Development Act:

“The Water Resources Development Act will help allow our nation to have both a clean environment and a healthier economy. The reauthorization of the Harbor Maintenance Trust Fund will help Wisconsin ports maintain their condition to continue moving American goods to customers overseas. The bill also provides the Great Lakes Restoration Initiative proper resources to restore and protect the Great Lakes ecosystem, including prevention efforts against damage from invasive species. Like all Wisconsinites, I want to protect our water, air and land for future generations, and this bill is an integral component of that goal.”
