WASHINGTON – U.S. Sen. Ron Johnson (R-Wis.) Tuesday announced that his guest for the president’s address to Congress will be Tim Wendler of Pewaukee, Wisconsin. Tim is a leading advocate of right to try legislation that would ensure that terminally ill patients, their doctors, and pharmaceutical manufacturers are allowed to administer investigational treatments where no alternative exists. His late wife is the inspiration for the name of Sen. Johnson’s Trickett Wendler Right to Try Act, which has 44 bipartisan cosponsors.

“Right to try is all about freedom – the freedom for terminally ill patients to have access to potentially life-saving treatment, and more importantly, the freedom to hope,” Sen. Johnson said. “I’m honored to have Tim join me for tonight’s presidential address.”
