Johnson Votes to Confirm FDA Commissioner
WASHINGTON – Sen. Ron Johnson (R-Wis.) said this Tuesday after voting to confirm Dr. Scott Gottlieb to be Commissioner of the Food and Drug Administration (FDA):
“I look forward to working with Dr. Gottlieb to bring necessary reforms to the FDA to reduce healthcare costs and allow patients quicker access to treatments. In addition, Dr. Gottlieb will play an important role in addressing the nation’s opioid epidemic and ensuring terminally-ill patients have the opportunity to exercise their right to try and save their own lives. Dr. Gottlieb’s commitment to these pressing issues and many more currently facing American families will serve the FDA and the country well.”
