Senate Health Care Debate

This week, Sen. Johnson announced that for a variety of reasons, he is not ready to vote for the Better Care Reconciliation Act of 2017. He was joined by Senators Ted Cruz, Mike Lee and Rand Paul in stating they are open to negotiation and getting more information before the bill gets to the Senate floor.

Friday afternoon, Sen. Johnson appeared on CNN with Wolf Blitzer to explain why he is not yet ready to support the Senate health care bill.

I am concerned about those forgotten men and women, people in Wisconsin who always had health care coverage, always were responsible, they work hard, they're making money, they don't qualify for subsidies, and now they're without insurance because they can't afford it because of Obamacare. Those are the forgotten men and women I'm concerned about, and I'm concerned that the Senate bill, as the House bill did, will not do enough to bring down the premiums that were artificially increased because of the market distortions caused by Obamacare.
