Johnson Discusses U.S.-Russia Relations on NBC
WASHINGTON – U.S. Sen. Ron Johnson (R-Wis.) appeared on NBC’s “Meet the Press” Sunday to discuss U.S.-Russia relations and Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s ongoing investigation.
Excerpts from Senator Johnson’s appearance are below and video can be found here.
“I wish Russia were no more than a friendly rival. But unfortunately, they’re an unfriendly adversary. It's been their aggression, their provocations that have really resulted in a relationship that is not healthy for the world, for world peace. … It’s a tragedy.”
“Long-term, we have got to have better relations with Russia. We just do. So you have to respond. … We, as a world, as the western democracies, have got to show greater strength and resolve.”
