October is Manufacturing Month

Sen. Johnson tours foundry

October is Manufacturing Month and during a visit to Manitowoc's Wisconsin Aluminum Foundry, Sen. Johnson enjoyed meeting these students from Two Rivers High School. The foundry opened its doors for community tours to help show high school students that there are exciting, good-paying jobs in manufacturing. Sen. Johnson also visited Weld-Fab Manufacturing in Slinger.

Wisconsin manufacturers would benefit from the new USMCA trade agreement with Mexico and Canada. Contact your U.S. Representative to encourage them to support ratification of the USMCA.

Radio with a Live Audience

Sen. Johnson was invited to join 620 WTMJ for a live show at the Potawatomi Northern Lights Theatre in Milwaukee. He talked with Steve Scaffidi about his trips to Ukraine and conversations with President Trump. You can watch the entire interview on Wisconsin Eye.

School Visits

Sen. Johnson at Slinger High School

During the recent in-state work period this month, Sen. Johnson had the chance to visit many schools across Wisconsin. During a visit to Slinger High School, pictured above, the senator was presented with a metal flag created by students in the newly rennovated technical education department. Sen. Johnson also visited Milwaukee Area Technical College, Lake Country Lutheran High School, James Madison Memorial High School in Madison and Lincoln High School in Manitowoc.

Speaking of Lincoln High School, did you know that it was named the most beautiful public high school in Wisconsin by Architectural Digest? The high school was built in 1923 and is known for its Gothic-style tower and bronze statue of our 16th President.

Hanke Farm Family

Congratulations to Hanke Farms of Sheboygan Falls for getting the Century Farm Award this year celebrating their 100 years as a family farm business. Sen. Johnson was honored to visit this fifth generation family dairy farm which supports five households. Both of Sen. Johnson's parents grew up on farms, so he has a deep appreciation for the resiliency and grit of family farmers.
