Disaster after Disaster from President Biden

This is an Embarrassing Disaster for America

Helicopter Evacuation

The extent to which President Biden is denying reality is highly concerning. He and his administration have been living in a fantasy world regarding the border crisis and now the disaster in Afghanistan. Both are tragic results of their policy failures.

As Obama administration defense secretary Robert Gates said, Joe Biden "has been wrong on nearly every major foreign policy and national security issue over the past four decades." The first six months of this administration has been one disaster after the other: The border crisis, out-of-control deficit spending and inflation, cancelation of the Keystone XL pipeline and the union job losses and rising gas prices that followed, conceding completion of the Nord Stream II pipeline to Russia, begging Iran to come back to the negotiating table to double down on a really bad deal, refocusing our military on wokeness instead of readiness, and, now, the unmitigated disaster in Afghanistan. There might have been a way to withdraw from Afghanistan; this obviously isn't it.

It is shocking to witness the stunning collapse and growing chaos, and the predictable public executions, subjugation of women, and flourishing of terrorist groups in Afghanistan will likely soon follow. Scenes of desperation at the Kabul airport are heartbreaking, especially for those who served and sacrificed to prevent this from happening. President Biden claims to stand squarely behind his decision, but then blames others for a situation he inherited. Once again, President Biden is the root cause of this debacle. This didn't just happen. President Biden and his team created this disaster.

On Wisconsin's Fort McCoy Receiving Afghan Refugees

In the midst of the disastrous abandonment of our allies in Afghanistan, I am glad that some will be able to reach safety in the U.S. I'm confident the military personnel at Fort McCoy will fulfill their role with dedication and professionalism.

Open Borders Under Biden

Sen. Johnson at Border

President Biden's new asylum policy is a huge step toward open borders. This reckless act is another example of Biden failing to uphold his oath to "faithfully execute" and "preserve, protect, and defend the Constitution."

Senator Mike Lee and I will be submitting a detailed comment to Biden's proposed open border regulation. It is shocking that any president would violate his oath of office and threaten U.S. sovereignty in this manner. Biden's reckless action must be stopped.

Dishonest Media

Sen. Johnson with Media Gaggle

The Gannett-owned Milwaukee Journal Sentinel is once again using its editorial page for defamatory false hit pieces on me. Its recent headline, "Republican senator's backdoor deal-making," is a total and complete lie. This isn't journalism, it's propaganda by a liberal and biased media. If the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel had an ounce of integrity, they'd immediately retract the editorial and offer an apology, but I'm not holding my breath.

Glad that there are some truth-tellers in the media:

Voting Against $1.2 'Infrastructure' Bill

Senator Johnson

We need to spend money on infrastructure. We also need to stop further mortgaging our children's future. What's so unfortunate about the 2,700 page, $1.2 TRILLION infrastructure bill that passed the Senate this month is we could have accomplished both goals by repurposing money from the Democrats' 100% partisan "COVID relief" bill. A large portion of that money isn't even spent until 2022 through 2028.

Instead, the bill's supporters deceived the public into thinking their bill was "paid for" by using smoke-and-mirror gimmicks. The Congressional Budget Office didn't buy their fuzzy math and said their bill will add $256 billion to our national debt. There's no way I would support that deception from the swamp's big spenders. This is just the first step in the Democrats' plan to pass their $5 trillion-plus radical tax-and-spend agenda, and I simply couldn't help facilitate it.
