Appalling Lack of Transparency from Federal Agencies
Preserve Your Records
Last week, I called on the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), Food and Drug Administration (FDA), and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) to immediately preserve all records relating to the development, safety, and efficacy of the COVID-19 vaccines.
The lack of transparency from these agencies during the Biden presidency has been appalling. They have refused to provide complete and unredacted documents to my numerous oversight letters, hindering Congressional oversight and jeopardizing the public’s health.
Read my letter here which includes this excerpt:
"I can assure you that your obstruction will soon come to an end. In the next Congress, when I become chairman of the Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations, any attempt by your agencies to withhold documents will be met with a subpoena.”
Federal Spending is Out of Control
I've developed this new chart to show just how out of control spending is. In fiscal year 2019 spending was $4.4 trillion. Since then, it's up 56% to $6.9 trillion.
My chart shows a baseline based on population and inflation. Using that control fiscal year 2024 spending would have been $5.6 trillion instead of the actual $6.9 trillion, and the deficit would have been $500 billion vs. the actual $1.8 trillion. Had we used that simple control, total debt would be $8.8 trillion less today.
The uniparty has deviously converted discretionary into mandatory spending – enabling them to spend a lot more. This chart shows Other Mandatory Spending (OMS) has increased $681 billion since fiscal year 2019 – almost as much as Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid combined.
The new Department of Government Efficiency should seriously look at the $1.3 trillion in OMS for signification savings.
