Sen. Johnson Leads Colleagues in Calling for a Meeting of the Conference to Discuss Goals, Process for Electing a New Republican Leader

WASHINGTON – On Thursday, U.S. Sen. Ron Johnson (R-Wis.) led nine of his Senate GOP colleagues in sending a letter to Senate Republican Conference Chair John Barrasso, M.D. (R-Wyo.) requesting a meeting of the Conference the week of March 18, 2024, to develop a mission statement, goals for the Conference, and a process to elect a new Senate Republican Leader.

Sen. Johnson was joined on this letter by Senators Tommy Tuberville (R-Ala.), Roger Marshall, M.D. (R-Kan.), J.D. Vance (R-Ohio), Josh Hawley (R-Mo.), Mike Lee (R-Utah), Marco Rubio (R-Fla.), Jim Risch (R-Idaho.), Mike Braun (R-Ind.), and Rick Scott (R-Fla.).
